Wahlert Catholic High School announces Doug Varley ‘82 as Associate Principal / Dean of Students starting in the 2022-2023 school year.

“Mr. Varley has been a longstanding, committed leader at Holy Family, and I look forward to leading with him as he returns to Wahlert Catholic. Passionate about the success of teachers and students alike, Doug is an organized, systems thinker who will go the distance to ensure our school environment is a safe, welcoming place for all,” said incoming Wahlert Catholic Principal Mariah Reeves.

As a graduate and former Wahlert teacher, Mr. Varley is deeply connected to the school and brings a wealth of experience to his new position.  In the past 17 years, Mr. Varley has served as principal and assistant principal at Mazzuchelli Catholic Middle School. Before that, he taught English for 19 years, 11 of which were at Wahlert Catholic.

As Associate Principal / Dean of Students, Mr. Varley will support effective teaching and learning and collaborate with administrators, staff, parents, and students to ensure systematic, proactive, and responsive measures are in place for students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional well-being and success.

A search will commence immediately for Mr. Varley’s replacement at Mazzuchelli Catholic Middle School.

Please join us in warmly welcoming Mr. Doug Varley back to the Wahlert Catholic Golden Eagle family!

A note from Doug Varley:

I am excited for the opportunity to return to Wahlert Catholic and work with Ms. Reeves and the Wahlert staff in setting the path for an optimum academic, social, and spiritual culture. I’m very proud to have been a part of the administrative team at Mazzuchelli Catholic Middle School since its inception, and I have great faith that the wonderful teachers and staff will continue to build on what has been established over the past 17 years.
