11th Grade High School Timeline

  • Keep up your grades! Continue to achieve your highest cumulative GPA.
  • Be sure to take challenging courses. Check out Wahlert’s AP and dual credit courses.
  • Stay involved in school and community activities. Serve your community.
  • Take the Iowa Assessments test in October.
  • Take the PSAT test in November to possibly qualify for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
  • Sign up to take the ACT and/or SAT. The ACT is offered at Wahlert in October and April. Take the test as often as you would like. Most students take the exams at least twice.
  • Take any AP exams in May.
  • Choose senior year courses with the help of your parents and counselors. Look for courses that will give you a strong transcript.
  • You probably have been receiving flyers/mail from interested colleges. Organize the information you wish to keep in a folder and discard any others.
  • Continue to narrow down the list of possible career and college options. Check out college websites and start taking some campus tours.
  • Look over the college information located on our website.
  • Get a pass to visit with college representatives in guidance in the spring. Visits will be posted on the website and outside the guidance office.
  • Continue to build a strong resume with school and community activities and service work.
  • Maintain good study habits.
