Our Lady of Guadalupe Parent Association

The Our Lady Parent Association is a parent-run organization that coordinates activities that support the school by building community, showing appreciation for teachers, and enhancing the learning experience.

All parents and guardians are automatic members of the parent association. A suggested contribution of $30 per family for Parent Association dues can be made as part of your optional fees during school registration or by cash/check in the school office. Your PA dues will help to support special school projects and teacher appreciation opportunities throughout the school year.

We encourage families to get involved!

The Parent Association (PA) is a parent/guardian volunteer-run organization that coordinates activities that support the school by building community, showing appreciation for teachers, enhancing the learning experience, promoting family engagement, and helping build strong partnerships between the school and families.

Parent Association meetings are held virtually, 4-6 times during the school year (typically Wednesdays over the noon hour). Meeting times will be announced via the Family Newsletter, on ParentSquare, and on the Our Lady Facebook page.

Yes, any Our Lady parent or guardian can join the PA meetings, serve as a PA sub-committee chair, or volunteer for PA events.

Attending PA meetings is encouraged, but you are not required to attend PA meetings to get involved with the PA. You are welcome to volunteer for specific PA events or serve as a sub-committee chair, even if you don’t regularly attend PA meetings. However, attending meetings is a great way to get to know other parents/guardians and share your ideas and feedback!

For more information on the types of volunteer opportunities available with the OLG PA, please view the Our Lady PA Interest Form. Parents/guardians can sign up for low-time-commitment volunteer opportunities that are posted in the Our Lady PA Facebook group and/or ParentSquare, chair a sub-committee, or contact olgpa@holyfamily.dbq.pvt.k12.ia.us with ideas on how they would like to serve the PA, or serve in a PA leadership position.

The parent association leadership team is comprised of a steering committee and sub-committee chairs. If you serve as a PA sub-committee chair or otherwise take on a leadership role with the PA, you are considered to be part of the PA Leadership team. The parent association reports directly to the school principal.

If you are interested in serving as a sub-committee chair, please fill out the Our Lady PA Interest Form and/or contact olgpa@holyfamily.dbq.pvt.k12.ia.us.

Please contact olgpa@holyfamily.dbq.pvt.k12.ia.us to ask questions or share your feedback or ideas with the PA Leadership Team. We love fresh ideas!

A suggested contribution of $30 per family for Parent Association dues can be made via ParentSquare during school registration or by cash/check in the school office. Your PA dues will help to support special school projects, field trips, and teacher appreciation opportunities throughout the school year. The PA also raises funds through the Fall Olympics event and school supply kits for other special projects.
