Announcing the Next Principal of Resurrection Elementary

Holy Family Catholic Schools is pleased to announce the promotion of Resurrection Elementary fourth-grade teacher Sara Weires ’02 to become Resurrection’s next principal starting in the 2023-2024 school year. Mrs. Weires will succeed current Principal Denise Grant upon her retirement in June.

The pair have worked closely in Mrs. Weires’ seven years of teaching at Resurrection, with Mrs. Grant even serving as her onsite mentor during the completion of her master’s degree program. This partnership will continue throughout the second semester to support a seamless transition of leadership.

Mrs. Weires holds a Master of Arts in Education with PK–12 Principal/Supervisor of Special Education from Viterbo University and a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education from Clarke University. She is also a proud Wahlert Catholic High School alumna! Mrs. Weires has taught in Holy Family schools for 14 years and has served in a variety of system-level leadership capacities, such as the writing benchmark, reading curriculum and Positive Behavior Supports committees.

Sara will be an excellent addition to the Holy Family administrative team with her experience in teaching from Early Childhood to intermediate levels, and we’re blessed to have her! Please join us in congratulating and warmly welcoming Sara into her new role.
