High School Ministry Clubs

Christian Leadership Committee (CLC)

Christian Leadership Committee is a group of students who dedicate time and energy into creating meaningful experiences of faith for the student body. The group aids in the planning of renewals, prayer services, and leading daily prayer. These students are the student voice within the high school ministry program.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA)

Fellowship of Christian Athletes is a club with the mission to allow students, coaches, and all whom they influence the chance to discuss topics pertaining to athletics, faith, Bible passages, and to create fellowship. Our relationship will demonstrate steadfast commitment to Jesus Christ and His Word through Integrity, Service, Teamwork and Excellence. All students, 9 through 12 grade and coaches are welcome to attend.

Interact

Interact is a student club sponsored by the Rotary Club of Dubuque. The Interact Club provides a means for students to become actively involved at Wahlert, within the Dubuque Community and beyond through service leadership. The club meets twice a month to organize local and international service. Local service agencies are typically organizations who serve at-risk youth. International service projects are usually fundraisers or initiatives that meet the needs of people in poverty throughout the world.

Respect Life Club

Respect Life club is a student club to provide awareness and education of current life issues on campus. This group of students lives the Catholic mission of respecting the dignity of human life, especially the poor. Programming throughout the year includes education and prayer on life issues during October Respect life month and other relevant times of the year. The club provides service through food and baby drives, providing donations to nonprofits who meet the needs of vulnerable, young mothers.

The club works with Dubuque County Right to Life to connect the Wahlert community with respect life initiatives in the city, and also connects students to attend the March for Life in Washington D.C. or Chicago.

Students Teaching Others Peace (STOP)

Students Teaching Others Peace is a club under the philosophy of Pope Paul VI’s statement: If you want peace, work for justice. The club lives out the mission of teaching other students peace by planning the Thanksgiving prayer service along the theme of gratitude and giving to others in need. The club meets regularly to plan for this prayer service and provide other programming that is social justice oriented.
